The Fossil Record: Artist’s Interpretation

The Fossil Record is a series of animations exploring man’s desire to interpret the natural past with limited data.

As a young designer, Schultz worked with a number of museums on scientific exhibitions. He was struck by how afraid museum scientists were by artists visualising their findings. The scientists wanted to clearly indicate that all imagery were “an artist’s interpretation” and not their preference for presenting their data.
